About Us
RUDILAC stands for the Rural Development, Information and Legal Advocacy Centre, a Nigerian non-profit organization focused on public accountability and transparency. Founded in 2018, the group works extensively alongside FOI Counsel to assist low-income individuals, journalists, and NGOs in enforcing their right to access information. Our Key Focus Areas are:
Information Access
We are a vocal advocate for the Freedom of Information
Act (FOIA). We assist journalists, NGOs, and low-income individuals in filing information requests and actively challenge public institutions that attempt to undermine government transparency.
Legal Representation
We provide free legal advice, aid victims of industrial negligence, and have litigated numerous public-interest cases in both domestic and international courts.
Rural Empowerment
We run programs to support rural and agricultural workers, including initiatives to boost female participation in the agricultural sector.
Our Values
Justice
We champion equal access to justice and the protection of fundamental rights for all.
Integrity
We uphold the highest standards of honesty, accountability, and ethical conduct.
Transparency
We promote openness and access to information as pillars of good governance.
Advocacy
We drive positive change through evidence-based policy engagement and public interest action.
Empowerment
We equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools to defend their rights.
Collaboration
We build strong partnerships to advance human rights, civic engagement, and sustainable development.
